First Impressions
As a photographer, you never really know what to expect from the first time meeting your clients. You can get a general idea of who they are from phone calls and email exchanges, but it still feels very similar to a blind date when you finally arrive on location for a session. After having to reschedule this engagement session due to stormy Florida conditions, I was particularly nervous to see if the weather would be cooperative. We were all pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by a cool breeze, beautiful sunset, and NO RAIN! Hallelujah!
Sometimes you have to put in a little more effort to get clients talking or comfortable behind the camera. Sometimes it feels more forced. This? This was not one of those times.
Katie and Jonathon are some of the warmest, most genuine people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They were easy (and fun!) to talk to. They joked, they quoted The Office with me (basically my love language), and they made me laugh so hard that I nearly peed my pants (postpartum problems, am I right?). Time really does fly when you're having fun, and this session flew by.
They are a driven couple. They work hard to accomplish their goals. Katie is a nurse at a trauma hospital, while Jonathon works in the US Navy and is close to completing his degree in respiratory therapy. They are down to earth, and their love for each other shines through. They keep each other laughing, which is the most romantic thing on earth (in my humble opinion).
They got engaged on Big Talbot Island, so it only felt fitting to have their engagement session close to that spot at the beautiful Boneyard Beach.
I am totally enchanted with this couple, and I can't wait to see all the places that their love takes them.
Congratulations Katie & Jonathon!
